Major(s)/Minor(s) Major in Sociology, Minor in Professional Writing Internship Instead of an internship, I had the pleasure of taking the Advanced Public Speaking Class. We developed the skills to articulate 3-minute elevator pitches, strategic attack plans, and ted talks. We learned all the minor details that make a good presentation GREAT. From expanding skills in PowerPoint to developing the confidence to speak in public, this class provides a great challenge and real-world applications that will make you a better candidate for your career.
Post-Graduation Plans After graduation, I plan to get an entry-level job in Human Resources or in an Administrative position that will further my skills in working for non-profits. With this experience, I hope to one day start my own non-profit organization that will provide tools for successful aging for the elderly community.
Why I chose the Civic Engagement Track: I was drawn to the Civic Engagement track because it stemmed from a background of caring, having a passion, and making change.I believe that the Civic Engagement track provides the necessary skills to transform written language in a manner that effectively communicates our ideas to help others.
My most memorable moments at UCSB were: My highlights from the last four years at UCSB are all the challenging classes that led me to my major & minor, every friendship made that strengthened my character, and the spontaneous explorations that has guided me to discover the beautiful landscapes and food in Santa Barbara.
