How I want to make an impact in the world: I would love to work with young girls as a mentor and teacher. I currently work as a music teacher for girls through Girls Rock Santa Barbara, and I am always looking for ways to show kids that they don't have to accept the world that is handed to them. Why I chose the Professional Writing Minor: I love to write creatively and personally, and I believe that the written word is one of the most powerful forms of community building and message sharing. I was looking for the skills to make my writing as meaningful and effective as possible. My most memorable moment at UCSB: Playing music on the roof of the music building for the people biking by! What I will miss the most about UCSB: As nerdy as this sounds, the opportunities for intellectual discussion! |
