How I want to make an impact in the world: I hope that in the future I will be able to use my education and privilege to give back to and create opportunities in Ethiopia, where my family is from. How I will do so in specific, I am still figuring out! Why I chose the Professional Writing Minor: I chose to apply to the minor because I have always enjoyed writing and know how critical of a skill quality writing is for both academic and professional purposes. I felt like the Professional Writing minor would be a good opportunity to develop and diversify my writing skills. My most memorable moment at UCSB: My most memorable moment during my time at UCSB was actually when I studied abroad in Turkey.
