How I want to make an impact in the world: Of all the problems in the world I'd like to fix, I plan to start with climate change. In my eyes, climate change is one of the most urgent, most underestimated, most devastating crises of our time, and it affects mainly those who are not responsible for it, and those who cannot defend themselves. I plan to make an impact on the world by joining the fight for climate justice. Why I chose the Professional Writing Minor: When I was a kid, I wrote songs and stories, filling countless notebooks. In high school, I wrote poems and kept journals. In college, I realized how important writing was to me. I see writing not only as a creative outlet, but as one of the best ways to express my thoughts and opinions in school, in work, and in all aspects of life. I chose the Professional Writing Minor because I sincerely love writing, and I wanted to improve my writing skills so that I can use writing in my professional career. My most memorable moment at UCSB: One of my most memorable moments at UCSB was when I found out my application to study abroad had been accepted. I've had so many incredible opportunities at UCSB, but in this moment it felt like a door opened to the whole world. What I will miss the most about UCSB: One of the things I'll miss the most about UCSB is the close-knit community. I'm going to miss living less than a mile away from all my friends, classmates, teammates, and coworkers. In my four years here I've experienced and grown so much with my fellow gauchos, I'll miss belonging to the sea of students that make UCSB such an incredible community. |
