Irvine, CA Major & Minor: Economics and Accounting & Professional Writing Affiliations (on-campus and off-campus): Home Savi, UCSB Rec Sports Contact Info (email, linkedin, website, etc): Email: [email protected] Linkedin: www.linkedin.com/in/eikehoffmann Website: eikespot.wordpress.com What I plan to do after graduation: I will be working at KPMG in downtown Los Angeles beginning next January, but I hope to get experience working in both for-profit and non-profit spheres throughout the world. How I want to make an impact in the world: I want to be involved in microcredit agencies in poverty-stricken parts of the world. I am also a long-time donor of the World Wildlife Fund, and hope to work either for or with them in the future. Why I chose the Professional Writing Minor: Taking my first upper-division writing class at UCSB convinced that I wanted to be more involved with the Writing Program. I have always enjoyed to write, and was drawn to the opportunity to apply my abilities in a more professional context. My most memorable moment at UCSB: Either kayaking on Trigo after a massive storm flooded the streets, or backpacking through Patagonia during my study abroad experience in Chile. What I will miss the most about UCSB: Being a two-minute walk away from any of my friends and the beach. |
INTERNSHIP
Eike interned for Home Savi, a real-estate startup company based in Santa Barbara’s Funk Zone. Committed to optimizing the home buying process via a web-based platform, Home Savi seeks to bring cost-efficiency through technology to an industry that has been notoriously slow to modernize. The company is currently in its final stage of development and expects to fully launch into the open market in the next two months.
His role at Home Savi is to both create and edit content for the website. He worked directly with the founders (it's a tight unit of six people total) and gained valuable insight into the inner workings of a startup. |
