Post-Graduation Plans I am volunteering with GIVE! Volunteers. I will be spending 2 weeks in Thailand to teach the local children English and help develop sustainable farming practices for the community. After that, I will be taking a gap year to apply for graduate school to get my masters in environmental sociology.
Why I chose the Civic Engagement Track: I always enjoyed writing, ever since I was a little kid and in high school, I knew I wanted to make a difference in the world. I wanted to leave a lasting impact and I wanted to help those who needed it the most. I am passionate about environmental justice and I want to eventually start my own nonprofit that aims to combat environmental injustice in Asia.
My most memorable moments at UCSB were: I participated in the UCDC program where I interned at the Center for International Environmental Law. I met some of the most amazing people there and the program helped me open my eyes to the real world. The people I have met - friends and professors - throughout the four years have also greatly shaped who I am as a person. There were some ups and downs throughout the years, but I'm thankful I have such amazing resources to fall back on.
