How I want to make an impact in the world: I will make an impact by doing work that is rooted in the agency to create progressive change rather than the apathy to permit injustice. Why I chose the Professional Writing Minor: I chose the Professional Writing Minor because I love to write and I am passionate about making a difference in the world. The Civic Engagement track taught me how to integrate valuable communication skills into my professional work to positively impact our global society. My most memorable moment at UCSB: Hitchhiking on on a boat with three Chilean crab fishermen in Cabo Froward, Chile while I was studying abroad through UCEAP. What I will miss the most about UCSB: I will miss the incredible campus community that made me feel welcome, the education that made me rethink how I viewed the world and the people that made my college experience the best four years of my life. |
INTERNSHIP
Lindsay interns for the Nuclear Age Peace Foundation, an organization dedicated to educating and advocating for peace and a world free of nuclear weapons and to empower peace leaders. The Foundation is a non-partisan, non-profit organization with consultative status to the United Nations and is comprised of over 75,000 individuals and groups worldwide who realize the imperative for peace in the Nuclear Age.
As a Communications Intern, Lindsay has worked on a variety of projects, including writing articles for the NAPF Sunflower Newsletter, creating profile stories of Marshall Islanders for the Nuclear Zero campaign and producing the organization's Report to the UN-Secretary General on Disarmament Education Activities. |
