Major(s)/Minor(s)
Major in Global Studies, Minor in Professional Writing Post-Graduation Plans After graduation I am excited to start work as Sales and Business Development Representative at Oracle. When I'm not working, I can't wait to go back singing at my home Church, cooking Nigerian dishes, eating Chinese hotpot, or going to Soul Cycle. Why I chose the Civic Engagement Track: I pursued the Professional Writing Minor to elevate my writing so that I can stand out in my career. After UCSB, I knew that I wanted to start working immediately. With that in mind, I wanted to take classes that I knew advance my professional skills, particularly in writing. When I was looking for classes, many of the Writing Minor classes popped up in my search. So I thought this minor was one of the best ways for me to practice writing in a professional environment before going into the workforce. My most memorable moments at UCSB were: During my junior year, I had the phenomenal opportunity to go abroad for a year in China. I learned so much about myself abroad, made so many great memories with the people I met abroad and studied abroad with. I know that I want to travel more, be fluent in speaking Chinese, and work on finding a way that I can make an impact in empowering the African Diaspora community. UCSB has just been such a growth experience because of the way I have grown into understanding myself more as person and the friends I made. I'm definitely more equipped and really excited to continue finding ways to incorporate all of my goals in my life. |
