Austin GiannuzziMajor: Global and International Studies
While at UCSB: I seek a corporate career that fulfills my passion for making the world a better place as well as my written communication skills. During my time at UCSB, I was involved in both academic and social activities that allowed me to showcase my global conscious and leadership capabilities.Since my first year, I have been a dedicated member of my fraternity, Beta Theta Pi, and served as the Philanthropy Chair for two consecutive quarters. During the Fall of 2013, I had the privilege of studying abroad in Madrid, Spain, where I became proficient in writing and speaking Spanish at a Spanish-speaking only university. Not only was it rewarding to be accepted into the Professional Writing program, but it was also a cornerstone in my academic career. It gave me the experience I needed to generate effective forms of communication within any professional setting. I have been able to enhance his practice with professional writing as the Development Intern at the local non-profit, SEE International, where I helped write and construct the organization's annual report along with various other projects. I also interned at Direct Relief International, a well-establish NGO located in Santa Barbara, where I served as the Philanthropic Investment intern. In the process, I feel my experience writing and interning at two major non-profits has allowed me to become a versatile employee, able to balance multiple organizational responsibilities and adapt to any professional setting. This experience has established and solidified my passion to make a change in the world through non-profit work. After Graduation: After graduating, I plan to move to Seattle, WA in hopes of securing a job at a corporation or business that combines my passion for the world and my written communication skills.
